- 1X2
- A market where you bet on the home team to win (1), a draw (X), or the away team to win (2).
- Accumulator
- A single bet that combines multiple selections; all of them must win for the bet to pay out.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap that gives a team a half‑goal or whole‑goal advantage, splitting the bet into two parts to remove the draw as a possible result.
- Back betting
- Betting that an outcome WILL happen, which is the usual type of wager.
- Bankroll management
- The practice of deciding how much of your total funds to risk on each bet to stay in control.
- Bet Builder
- A tool that lets you combine different betting markets from a single match into one wager.
- Bet slip
- A record that lists the selections and stake for a wager you intend to place.
- Bookmaker
- A company that sets odds and accepts bets from customers.
- Both Teams to Score (BTTS)
- A wager on whether each team will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- The option to settle a bet before the event ends, letting you lock in a profit or cut a loss.
- Correct score
- A bet on the exact final score of a match.
- Double chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes (home win or draw, away win or draw, etc.) in one wager.
- First goal scorer
- A wager on which player will score the first goal of the match.
- Half-time/Full-time
- A bet that predicts both the result at half‑time and the result at full‑time.
- In-play betting
- Placing a bet after the match has started, with odds that change as the game progresses.
- Lay betting
- Betting that an outcome will NOT happen, acting as the bookmaker for other bettors.
- Live betting
- Another term for in‑play betting, placing bets while the match is in progress.
- Margin
- The bookmaker’s built‑in profit, reflected in the odds they offer.
- Odds
- A number that shows how likely an outcome is and how much you can win for each unit you stake.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals in a match will be more (over) or fewer (under) than a set figure.
- Payout
- The total amount you receive when a bet wins, including your original stake.
- Pre‑match betting
- Placing bets before the scheduled start of a match.
- Spread betting
- A bet on whether a team’s performance will be above or below a predicted margin.
- Stake

- Value bet
- A selection where the odds are higher than the true chance of the outcome, offering an expected profit over time.
